Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden was beaming on Thursday morning as she attended a World Wildlife Fund (WWF) event in Stockholm with her dog Rio in tow.

The royal, 46, who boarded a ferry to visit the Nämdöskärgården National Park on the archipelago of Nämdö, was dressed casually in a purple parka jacket, fitted green trousers and a pair of black walking boots.

Once inside for the annual meeting of the WWF, an organisation created to protect nature and the environment, she removed her jacket to reveal a cream silk shirt which she wore open at the neck.

Despite her dressed down look, mother-of-two Victoria looked elegant with her hair brushed back into a neat chignon.

Cavapoo Rio, a mix between a Cavalier King Charles spaniel and a Poodle, appeared contented as he sat down next to Victoria's chair.

Wearing a leather cross-body bag and carrying a navy New York Yankees cap in her hand, the relaxed Crown Princess smiled as she walked Rio and greeted local people.

As a Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations Development Programme, Victoria has long been committed to causes including sustainability and climate action.

Earlier this month, as she opened the 2024 Eurovision song contest in a surprise video clip, versatile Victoria stunned in a pale pink power suit.

In attendance for the final on Saturday 11 May, she opened the ceremony with a pre-recorded speech to the hundreds of millions of viewers worldwide.

The royal appeared to be following in the footsteps of the Princess of Wales, who opened the song contest in Liverpool last year with a touching piano performance tribute to Ukraine.

'Good evening, it is my great honour to welcome you all to Sweden. I hope you will enjoy the show, and I wish all the contestants the best of luck,' Princess Victoria said.

The royal looked chic in a pale pink suit, which she paired with a white blouse and stilettos in the short clip.

She appeared to be standing in one of the main rooms in the Palace, revealing the opulent decorations and a large bouquet of flowers placed behind her.

Victoria arrived at the contest held in Malmo accompanied by Scania Governor Annelie Hulthén, SVT CEO Hanna Stjärne and Culture Minister Parisa Liljestrand.

Her address comes after Kate Middleton opened the final of the 2023 Eurovision with a piano performance tribute to Ukraine.

Kate played the piano alongside 2022's Ukrainian winners, the Kalush Orchestra, in a stunning opening sequence ahead of the grand final.

In 2023, Liverpool hosted the competition on behalf of war-torn Ukraine, with fans around the UK proudly showing their support for the nation.

Royal fans were delighted by Kate's surprise performance, which was recorded in the Crimson Drawing Room at Windsor Castle and was a closely-guarded palace secret.
